Day 1: Arrival in Bari/Conversano - 34 km

On arrival at the airport, pick up your hire car before heading to Conversano.


Take the time to stroll around the historic town centre, stopping off at one of the many pavement cafés.

Day 2: Conversano/Matera/Conversano - 120 km

Breakfast at the hotel.


Suggestions for places to visit:

Don't miss a walk around Matera (65 km from Conversano) to admire the "Sassi". These troglodyte houses are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the streets often run on top of the white buildings. Explore this fascinating city as you walk through a vast complex of galleries and cellars dug into the tufa! Next, drive to Conversano for the night.

Day 3: Conversano/Bari/Polignano A Mare/Monopoli/Conversano - 95 km

Suggestions for places to visit:

Explore the atmospheric medieval town of Bari, where narrow streets and stairways are often hiding women preparing fresh pasta in front of their homes! Bari is also home to two beautiful churches dedicated to the city's patrons. Take your time, strolling the Bari streets... Then head towards the coast, to Polignano A Mare, where a beautiful panorama of houses clinging to the cliff face awaits... Enjoy a charming stroll through the narrow winding streets steeped in history that run down to the sea. Nearby Monopoli with its medieval town centre and a beautiful view from the castle is well worth a visit.

Day 4: Conversano/Alberobello/Ostuni/Conversano - 130 km

Suggestions for places to visit:

Drive to Alberobello, a must-see on any trip to Puglia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy strolling through the narrow winding streets exploring the magical "trulli", the circular houses with conical roofs typical of the region.

Enjoy a buffet of light bites in a trullo restaurant, one of our favourite spots in Alberobello. (This lunch is included.)


Then head for Ostuni, which is built on three hills and overlooks endless olive groves. Explore the picturesque old town's narrow streets dotted with white houses and baroque and Renaissance palaces.

Day 5: Conversano/Brindisi/Lecce - 130 km

Breakfast at the hotel.


Suggestions for places to visit:

Head to Brindisi, known as the "Gateway to the East" and an important port of call since Roman times. Then take time to explore the magnificent architectural backdrop of Lecce. The local stone is very soft and lends itself wonderfully to the many remains for which the city is renowned.

Day 6: Lecce/Otranto/Galatina/Gallipoli/Lecce - 148 km

Breakfast at the hotel.

Suggestions for places to visit:

Take a trip to Otranto in the east of Italy, where a dialect very close to Greek is still spoken. You can stroll through the old town and visit the cathedral with its amazing mosaic floor.


Head inland to discover the charming little town of Galatina, where you can visit the chapel of San Paolo, where the "tarantas", women bitten by tarantulas, found a cure for their illness. Then head for the Gallipoli peninsula with its whitewashed houses and terraced roofs and enjoy the breathtaking views as you stroll along the ramparts.


Overnight stay in the Lecce area.


Our top recommendation for dinner in Lecce is Alle Due Corte, where you can sample the local speciality Ciceri e Tria, homemade pasta with chickpeas. (This is only a suggestion, dinner is not included.)

Day 7: Lecce/Santa Maria di Leuca or Porto Cesareo/Lecce - 165 km

Enjoy a relaxing day exploring the most beautiful beaches in southern Italy.

Day 8: Lecce/Bari airport - return home - 160 km

Breakfast at the hotel (it's best not to book a flight for too early in the morning, so you have plenty of time to get back to the airport - the drive will take around 1.5 hours).

This is the end of your journey through the stunning wilderness of Puglia. Return your hire car at Bari airport and have a great trip back!

Your choice of return flight on day 8:
We advise you to choose a flight that is not too early in order to get to the airport without any fuss. It is about 1hr30 by car.

The mileage is given for information purposes only and may vary depending on the routes chosen by you.

If you are travelling alone, you will be asked to pay a surcharge for a single room. This additional charge will be automatically included in your quote.
Child rates will be applied for children from 2 to 12 years old in the case where the child shares the room with two adults. If the child is travelling with just one adult, the surcharge may be applied on an adult basis. If your child or children do not fit into the age group mentioned above, the rate will be communicated to you at the time of processing your order. If the room is equipped with a bunk bed, the bed height is not suitable for children under 6 years of age.
For safety reasons, the wellbeing facilities of most establishments are not accessible to children under 16 years old. Similarly, it is possible that some amenities or services require an additional charge or are unavailable for exceptional reasons.

Travel documents

Once your reservation has been made, you will receive a confirmation e-mail before your travel documents are sent.
Regarding the transport documents (in the case of a reservation with transport included), we will provide you with all the information relating to check-in and luggage in the "Your travel documents" email, allowing you to leave with peace of mind.
To take advantage of all your reserved services (hotels, transfers, activities, etc.), you will receive one or more exchange vouchers to be presented to each supplier.

Transportation

Choose an offer and, according to your preferences, opt for a seat in economy, business or first class.

In order to best organise your time in the airport, we advise that you arrive 2 hours before boarding for a medium-haul flight, or 3 hours before boarding for a long-haul flight (more than 5 hours). Take advantage of your early arrival to pass through security and check your luggage.
You will be informed whether or not luggage is included at the time of your booking.
You will have the opportunity to add additional luggage for a fee.
There are several different cities that are typically offered as departure points. Your arrival destination will show in your travel documents.
Depending on the flight schedule, some arrivals or returns may be made at night with early arrival or late departure. You will not always be able to have your room available immediately and will need to refer to the check-in and check-out conditions of the hotel.
In the event that your transfer is not included in your hotel reservation, it may be offered at the time of your reservation as an additional option. Unless specifically mentioned, transfers may be made in groups of 15 to 55 people.
